- How to Apply for Financial Aid
The first step in the financial aid process is filing out the FAFSA , the free application for federal student aid. This is necessary for applying for all federal grants, loans and work study programs. We’ve listed some helpful steps below to make the process easier or you can go to
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to get started now. You may also visit our website for more details http://www.texastcm.edu/Future-Students/financial-aid and then select the area you need.
Filing the FAFSA TCTCM School code: 031795-00
STEP 1:
Get a PIN: http:\\www.pin.ed.gov
STEP 2:
Complete the “FAFSA on the Web” Worksheet
STEP 3:
File Your FAFSA Online -http:\\www.fafsa.ed.gov
Once you and your parent (if necessary) have obtained your PIN and you have the FAFSA Worksheet, log on to fafsa.ed.gov after January 1, 2012 to file the 2012-2013 FAFSA. Make sure to list the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Federal School Code, 031795-00, in the school release section. Also make sure to complete each step and write down or print out your confirmation number when you finish entering the form. You will need the confirmation number in case any problems arise with the processing of your application.
STEP 4:
Monitor the Status of Your FAFSA
TCTCM should receive the results of your application within two to three days after it has been processed. If you do not receive a response from the Department of education within two weeks of submitting your FAFSA, you should contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center for assistance. TCTCM cannot move forward without the FAFSA being completed.
STEP 5:

Once you have completed your FAFSA and received the confirmation from the school, you should begin considering your financial aid package. A financial aid package can consist of scholarships, grants, loans and work-study.
