Continuing Acupuncture Education

TCTCM is pleased to be able to continue to offer several continuing acupuncture education (CAE) programs this year. Our CAE programs are accredited by NCCAOM and suitable for many state licenses. CAE is an important part of maintaining your skills as a practicing acupuncturist. We hope that this year’s topics are of interest to you and we always welcome suggestions for new programs. Continuing Acupuncture Education Presenters

Maoyi Cai, M.D., M.S., Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM), R.Ac. (Canada)

Dr. Cai is the Academic Dean at TCTCM. He served as a board member of the Acupuncture Committee of Alberta, Canada, between 2003 and 2005. He was also the Dean of Academic Affairs at Alberta College of Acupuncture and TCM, between 1997 and 2005. Dr. Cai passed the American and Canadian medical licensing examinations, and was certified as an M.D. in 1997 and 1999, respectively. Dr.Cai practiced medicine, in the Shanghai Medical University, from 1984 to 1990. Dr. Cai joined the faculty of the Texas College of TCM in January,2006.
Haitao Cao, Lic.Ac., Ph.D. (China)

Dr. Cao joined the TCTCM faculty in 2007 bringing with her more than ten years of experience as a clinician, instructor, and researcher in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She holds the position asDirector of Research at TCTCM.In addition, Dr. Cao instructs our students in a variety of classes at TCTCM.Dr. Cao has published in journals such as Traditional Chinese Medicine Research and the Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine on Digestion and has edited volumes such as Methodology of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Shaozhi Li, Ph.D., Lic.Ac. PH.D.

A specialist in TCM diagnosis, Li has taught TCM for over 18 years in China, the U.S., and Russia. He served as Deputy Director at Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Visiting Scholar at Michigan State University, and Associate Chair at Hunan College in China. He has extensive clinical experience and numerous publications to his credit, including: Chinese Therapeutic Methods of Acupoints, Theories of Chinese Medicine from Traditional to Modern, Teaching and Study of Diagnostics of Traditional Chinese Medicine, The Principles of Diagnosis and Treatment in Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Diagnostics, Exercises of Diagnostics of Traditional Chinese Medicine, The Reference of Dignostics of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Diagnosis and Differentiation of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Li has written numerous research papers as well. Dr. Li has been a faculty member at the College since 2001.
Mr. Han Dong L.Ac., M.S.

Han Dong earned his Bachelor of Medicine in 1986, and in 1991 he got his Master of Medicine in Prescription of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shenyang, China. From Sept. 1996 he begin his Ph.D. program in Pharmacology at China Medical University, Shenyang, China. July 1998, he came to United States. He teaches and practices Traditional Chinese medicine in SAMRA University of Oriental Medicine Los Angeles, Kansas College of Chinese Medicine, and Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. During twenty-five years teaching and practice, he accumulated rich teaching and clinical experiences. In his class, he likes to combine modern understanding with traditional Chinese medicine classics. He has written four books (in English and Chinese) and many academic papers.

 

Phyllis Jen Yurn Kung, L.Ac., M.A.O.M.

Ms. Kung was the Valedictorian of her class at Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Her primary focus includes lifestyle improvement acupuncture, including stress management, facial rejuvenation, and sports injury medicine. Ms. Kung currently serves as Secretary of the Texas Association of Acupuncturists.
